Pop Outerwear is a San Francisco-based snowboarding outerwear line designed around creating product that is built for the snow but designed for the city. This blog is an outlet for all of us here at Pop Outerwear – from the owner talking about the development of our products to an intern sharing her thoughts about getting ready to learn how to snowboard this upcoming season.
We’ve always believed that snowboarding is pure fun, whether you’re a beginner sprawled out over the bunny slope, an advanced rider searching for untracked pillows, or any level in between. As long as you’re having fun, you’re embodying what Pop Outerwear is all about.
We look forward to seeing you on the mountain! -

Becoming Fashion Aware
Can I say we were fashion dummies? We always loved being creative and appreciated things like effortless style and everlasting quality, but I definitely wouldn’t categorize us into the fashionista group. Don’t get me wrong; I like retail therapy just … Continue reading

The Interview
When I interviewed for Pop Outerwear, Joanne and Tim invited me over for a BBQ. From the get-go, I knew the interview process alone would be a unique experience. Over a delicious sausage and salad we discussed my goals and … Continue reading
Adaptability
Working at a startup like Pop Outerwear is like walking into a multiple intelligence test, where the game is to navigate as many strengths as possible. In my experience thus far, I realized how dynamic entrepreneurs need to be in … Continue reading

Around the Dinner Table
Every time the topic of snowboarding arises, I awkwardly avoid the subject. I’ve always felt a separation between people who go to the mountain to ski and people who go to the mountain to drink hot chocolate and sit in … Continue reading

My Introduction to the Slopes
Around age seven, my family set out to conquer the mountain. With eager anticipation, I struggled to pull on my neon striped snowsuit (pictured below), knit hat and ski boots. Twenty minutes later, my family wobbled back to the ski … Continue reading

Sharing is Caring
Ok, so in March 2009 we had the drive, the passion, and the need in the marketplace. There had to be other “non-steezy” snowboarders out there, right? We hoped so. We did the normal business stuff – filed paperwork for … Continue reading

Funk
We are possibly the least funky people we know… Don’t get me wrong, we love to have fun and dork around but we are really not funky. We (the founders) met while working at a ski resort and bonded over … Continue reading
